ANPR FAQs

  • ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) is a system that records vehicles entering and leaving the car park. It has been introduced to ensure fair use of the car park. The system is not intended as a revenue source but to prevent cars being left for long periods when the facilities are not being used.

  • The system will go live on Monday 23rd March.

  • The car park is intended for members to use while using the facilities. Visitors are also allowed to park when attending the club, but the parking must be linked to using the facilities on site.

  • All visitors, including members and non-members, receive an initial 3 hours of free parking without needing to register their vehicle.

  • If someone needs to stay longer than 3 hours, they must register their vehicle for a parking extension at reception, in person, at any time before the end of the initial 3-hour stay.

  • No. Extensions must be registered in person at reception.

  • Extensions can be registered at any time during within the 3‑hour parking period. Each additional extension must be registered separately.

  • Each extension provides an additional 3 hours of parking.

  • Yes. Multiple extensions can be applied throughout the day, as long as they are registered within each 3‑hour period.

  • Parking extensions can also be granted in Basil’s.

  • At the moment, the only registration point is at the main reception.

  • There are plans to install a second registration tablet in Basil’s, but this is still to be confirmed.

  • Every time a vehicle enters the car park, a new 3‑hour free parking session begins.

  • No registration is needed for a second or later visit unless the car stays longer than 3 hours during that visit. Each entry into the car park starts a new 3‑hour free parking period.

  • The system operates Monday to Friday from 6:00am until 8:00pm.

  • No. The system will currently be turned off on weekends (this might change in future) and will not affect weekend sport.

  • If someone enters before the system stops operating, they will not need to extend their stay beyond 8:00pm.

  • No. Because the system stops operating at 8:00pm, anyone entering after 5:01pm will not need to extend their parking time. Example: What if someone enters at 6:00pm and leaves at 10:00pm? They will not need to extend their parking because the ANPR system stops operating at 8:00pm.

  • Yes, cars can be left overnight but this is at the owner’s own risk - the car park is not manned. Please be advised that the barrier will be down once the facilities close and will not reopen until 6am the following morning.

  • The car must leave the car park by 9:00am the following morning.

  • The owner must register an extension at reception.

  • Yes, non-members working in Basil’s can extend their visit, but there will be a minimum spend to remain - to be confirmed.

  • Although the signs say extensions can be made at any time, Colets’ policy is that extensions must be registered during the last 90 minutes of the parking period.

  • This policy helps prevent vehicles being left in the car park all day when the facilities are not being used, ensuring fair access to parking spaces for members and club using visitors.

  • The visitor or member must enter their own vehicle registration on the tablet.

  • The tablet will be kept behind the main reception desk.

  • This ensures staff cannot be held responsible if an incorrect registration number is entered.

  • Any penalty will be issued directly by NPC and sent to the registered car owner’s address.

  • All disputes must be taken directly to NPC.

  • Penalties can only be cancelled if the issue was caused by an error on our side and after a formal investigation.

  • Only the Club Manager can approve a cancellation and only after a formal investigation.

  • Yes. Penalties can be issued immediately if someone parks outside the marked parking lines or uses a disabled bay without a valid blue badge or a Colets note.

  • No. Each member or visitor can only register 1 vehicle for an extension. Each vehicle requires a separate registrant.

  • Yes. As you are using our facilities and onsite, you are welcome to ask for an extension to your parking at reception, within the last 90 mins of your initial window.
