Colets Nursery

We opened our Nursery in the summer of 2006 and it continues to go from strength to strength.

Our aim is to create a home-from-home, caring atmosphere with fun and friendly carers, where the children come first. Our philosophy is to work with parents to develop “Happy, Healthy Children.”

Our unique, purpose-built facility was designed with just this in mind and the result is a bright, welcoming environment where the children are safe, loved and can grow into confident and happy individuals.

Colets’ Nursery follows the Governments’ Early Years Foundation Stage throughout the children’s time with us.

There are five base rooms geared to the developmental stages of each individual child:

Baby Room, Movers and Shakers, Toddlers, Nursery and Pre-School.

Each room is carefully planned and equipped to provide a relaxed environment in which the children can learn, socialise and develop at their own pace.

In addition the children are able to use Colets’ “Soft Play” area as part of their nursery day.  We also include Yoga Bug sessions and Jo Jingles. Swimming lessons are also available at an additional cost and subject to availability.

Nursery Garden

The nursery has its own secure garden which was built using natural materials in order to extend the opportunities available for the children’s learning and development. The children use the garden daily and it has a separate area for our babies and younger children in order that they too can get the most out of being outdoors. As well as the day-to-day experiences the children have just from being outside, the garden has two large built-in sandpits, a bike track, pirate ship and several planting boxes.

Security

The Nursery building and individual rooms are all equipped with CCTV to create a safe and secure environment and the homerooms have also been designed with vision panels to add an increased level of overall awareness to ensure the well-being of all our children. Entry to each room is via a pre-programmed access card for staff with videophone door entry for parents.

The nursery opens from 7.30am to 6.30pm with full days or full weeks to choose from.

We currently hold a "Good" OFSTED  report and rating which can be viewed by clicking here.

As the children leave nursery to go on to school they often return to their second home – Colets  - to take part in junior activities and holiday camps amongst familiar and much-loved surroundings.
